Nairobi is unique in having one of the only national parks on earth bordering a capital city. Nairobi National Park has a common boundary with the city on all but the southern perimeter making it possible to photograph a rhino roaming among the whistling thorn trees with high rise office buildings as a backdrop.
The park is home to the world’s densest concentration of black rhino. Other regularly spotted wildlife include lion, hyena, gazelle, warthog, zebra, giraffe, ostrich, buffalo along with 400 migratory bird species. Of the most popular species only the elephant is an absentee.
